This page separates Georgia dealer license costs that the state or a provider charges from charges that are Omni's. It was checked in November 2026. It is general information, not legal advice. It does not copy a fee table that the Board can change, and it does not list suite rents. Rents for platform suites are the live amounts on the offices page.
The Board fee
Rule 681-8-.01 says the fee schedule is available from the Board online, in person, or by writing to the Macon address, and that a copy is included with applications. It also says the Board can change fees. The April 2024 packet has a fee table. Because the rule says the schedule can change, this page does not repeat those dollar amounts. Use the schedule in the packet you file, and confirm it with the Board.
The bond and the insurance
The bond amount and the insurance limits are not the same thing as the price you pay to buy them. O.C.G.A. § 43-47-8, effective July 1, 2026, states a $50,000 bond for a used motor vehicle dealer, for each license or supplemental license, and public liability and property damage insurance of not less than $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage. Rule 681-3-.01 and the April 2024 application still state a $35,000 bond. Confirm which bond amount the Board will accept. The statute and the rule do not publish a bond premium or an insurance premium. The April 2024 packet says garage liability must be shown and that automobile liability only is not accepted. Ask the insurer for the premium. Do not treat a range you saw somewhere else as the Board's number. The surety bond guide has the citations.
Seminar, fingerprints, and plates
Rule 681-11-.02 says a pre-licensing seminar may not require attendees to buy products or services. It does not set a tuition. The provider charges its own fee. Ask the provider on the Board's current list. The seminar guide covers the hours.
O.C.G.A. § 43-47-8(c) says the applicant is responsible for all fees associated with the fingerprint background check. It does not print the vendor's price. The how-to guide and the April 2024 packet disagree on IdentoGO versus Fieldprint. Follow the current how-to guide.
Dealer plates are Department of Revenue fees, after the Board license. O.C.G.A. § 40-2-38, in the text published as effective July 1, 2026, states an $80 fee for the application, which includes one master plate, and $15 for each additional plate. The Department's dealer registration page also lists the documents, including Form MV-6 and Form MV-6A. Form MV-6C, revised March 2021, prints different renewal figures, including a $62 master renewal and $12 for each additional plate. Those are what that form prints. Confirm the current plate fee with the Department before you pay, because the form date and the statute text are not the same. The plates guide keeps them separate.
What Omni charges
Three paths are on the pricing page. Office only is a suite. Consulting only is the packet when you already have an office. Office + Full Consulting is the suite and the packet. The consulting amount on that page is the current Full Consulting package. State and provider fees are separate. The page does not add a surcharge for paying by card.
When you take an office, the first bill is first rent for that suite, prorated when the suite prorates, any setup fee, and the security deposit, plus the Monthly Platform & Technology Charge. Rent is not printed on this page. The offices list loads the suites that are actually available, and the rent on each suite is the rent for that suite. The Monthly Platform & Technology Charge is part of the office bill. It is not a Board fee.
Your card is vaulted when you apply. You are not charged when you apply. Office only is charged when building management accepts. Consulting only is charged when a consultant approves. Office + Full Consulting is charged when the second approval lands, in either order.
Zoning is not a fee on this page
For a suite leased through the AutoDealerGA platform, Omni Consultants, LLC provides zoning documentation for that suite. The local zoning authority decides zoning. If the office is one you bring yourself, zoning is your responsibility. Omni does not obtain zoning for a non-platform suite, including an office in the City of Atlanta.
Monthly sales reporting to the Department of Revenue
A licensed used motor vehicle dealer who is registered for sales and use tax files a return with the Georgia Department of Revenue. O.C.G.A. § 48-8-49(a) says each dealer, on or before the twentieth day of each month, transmits returns to the commissioner showing the gross sales and purchases taxable under the sales and use tax article during the preceding calendar month. The same subsection says the commissioner may provide for a quarterly or annual return, or may permit one on application.
Rule 560-12-1-.22 is the filing rule. For the first six months from the date of registration, the return is filed on a calendar-month basis. After that, a different frequency starts only after a written request and written approval. The rule allows quarterly filing when liability averaged less than $200 a month for six consecutive months, and annual filing when it averaged less than $50 a month. A return is timely when filed on or before 20 days after the last day of the reporting period. The Department's File and Pay page says a paper return, when one is allowed, is Form ST-3, and it points filers to the Georgia Tax Center.
That return is the sales and use tax return. It is not a Board sales log, and it is not title ad valorem tax. O.C.G.A. § 48-5C-1 requires a dealer of new or used motor vehicles who collects state and local title ad valorem tax to submit the title application and remit that tax to the county tag agent where the vehicle will be registered. If that is not done within 30 days of purchase, the statute sets a penalty, unless the county tag agent granted an extension under O.C.G.A. § 40-2-20. That duty is per purchase. It is not the monthly return in § 48-8-49.
Wholesale and retail use the same used motor vehicle dealer license. See the wholesale or retail guide. Section 48-8-49 still applies to a person who is a dealer for sales and use tax, whether the Board file is used for sales to consumers or to other dealers. Which sales are taxable, which are exempt and still reported, and which are title ad valorem tax instead, is a Department of Revenue question. Confirm your own sales with the Department before you skip a month. The filing page is where to check the current form and frequency.

Questions people ask
What does the Georgia dealer license itself cost?
The Board fee is the fee on the Board's current fee schedule. Rule 681-8-.01 says that schedule is available from the Board online, in person, or by writing, and that the Board can change fees. This page does not copy the dollar table from the April 2024 packet.
What do I pay Omni, and what do I pay the state or a provider?
Omni's charges are the office rent and the related office amounts when you take a suite, the Monthly Platform & Technology Charge on an office, and the consulting charge when you take consulting. Board fees, the surety bond premium, insurance, the pre-licensing seminar, fingerprinting, and Department of Revenue plate fees are state or provider charges. Omni does not add a surcharge for paying by card. Current Omni amounts are on the pricing page. Suite rents stay on the offices page and change with availability.
Why do bond prices you see online disagree?
O.C.G.A. section 43-47-8, effective July 1, 2026, states a $50,000 bond for a used motor vehicle dealer. Rule 681-3-.01 and the April 2024 form still state $35,000. Neither source publishes the premium a surety charges. Ask the surety for the premium, and ask the Board which penal sum it will accept.
Get help with any of these tasks
AutoDealerGA is owned and operated by Omni Consultants, LLC. AutoDealerGA can help with any of these tasks during the process. That includes sorting state and provider fees from the office and the consulting charge.
If you want the place of business and the packet handled together, see our current office and consulting prices. Board-ready means ready as the Georgia licensing board defines an established place of business. It does not mean the Board has approved a license.
We prepare filings. We do not guarantee Board approval. We do not approve zoning. For a suite leased through the AutoDealerGA platform, Omni Consultants, LLC provides zoning documentation for that suite. The local zoning authority decides zoning. The Board decides whether to issue the license.
